IMPRESSIVE; The National Directorate For Employment Trains About 10,000 Unemployed Persons In Kebbi

A record was released recently by the NDE which seems to be true. The land of equality where both animals and human share equal right, Kebbi State witness a massive positive change. The National Directorate for Employment (NDE), on Wednesday said it had trained and provided working tools to 10,000 unemployed persons in Kebbi between 1991 and 2013. The NDE Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Muhammed Zogirma, made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi at the distribution of working tools to 21 persons recently offered skills training by the directorate. Zogirma said the aim was to enable the beneficiaries to set up their own businesses to become self reliant and employers of labour.

He said the directorate would sustain the training programme, so as to empower more Nigerians to become entrepreneurs and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economy. The coordinator appealed to stakeholders, philanthropists, politicians and faith-based organisations to support the fight against unemployment by collaborating with the NDE to create more job opportunities for unemployed Nigerians. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 21 beneficiaries were given carpentry, vulcanising, welding, weaving and cell phone repair tools, as well as computers, generators and sewing machines, as grant. Zogirma urged them to redeem their loan on time to enable others to benefit.

In a message to the event, the NDE Director-General, Malam Abubakar Muhammad, said the tools were provided to empower the trainees to immediately venture into the various trades they had learnt. One of the beneficiaries, Malama Zuwaira Abubakar, assured that the beneficiaries would pay back the loan to enable others to benefit.
